How does it work?

VOIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. It is a simple technology and what it means for you is that with VoIP you can conduct a two way conversation with someone else using your existing broadband Internet Connection. This can be done in exactly the same way you would make a call normally using a normal telephone or it can be done using a program (MyPCPhone) installed on your computer.

MyCostSavingCall
VoIP allows you to make telephone calls using a computer network, over a data network like the Internet. VoIP converts the voice signal from your telephone into a digital signal that travels over the internet then converts it back at the other end so you can speak to anyone with a regular phone number. When placing a VoIP call using a phone with an adapter, you'll hear a dial tone and dial just as you always have. VoIP may also allow you to make a call directly from a computer using a conventional telephone or a microphone.

Voice Over IP
Voice Over Internet Protocol is a simple technology that converts your voice signal into a data signal which is transmitted across your highspeed broadband Internet connection. The MyCostCallSaving VoIP network routes your call to its destination in real time and with crystal clear quality.

The USB Phone
If you have a computer that is connected to your broadband/ADSL internet connection, you can plug a USB handset into it and use this just like a regular real life telephone handset. You will have a dial tone just as you always have.

MyPCPhone
The MyPCPhone soft phone is a software program that installs quickly and easily on your computer. You use your computer's speakers and a microphone (and you can even use a web cam to make video calls) to make your phone calls.
