We've answered the most common questions here but if you have a query that we have not addressed we'd love to hear from you! The common questions that we have answered are:
VoIP is powerful simple technology that will save you money! Surely the speed of the Internet Connection determines how clear and how fast the VoIP call is made?Yes and no. The VoIP only has a certain overhead in terms of speed – between 16 and 20kb/s will give you a crystal clear voice connection. Once you have a connection speed in excess of this it has no bearing on the quality of your VoIP call. However, should your line speed be intermittent then occasional breakup can be expected. This is a problem that is directly affected by the quality of the connection that your Internet Service Provider supplies you with. Will I hear a lag or an echo using VoIP when I call vast distances such as when I make international calls? No worse than you are used to. As you know, normal international calls often suffer from some lag. VoIP is no different but on the whole your lag times should be less than on a normal phone call. How reliable is VoIP?VoIP is reliable. As long as your connection to the Internet is up and operational your VoIP service will work. It is worth noting that you only pay for successful calls. What if the Internet is really busy and my connection is very slow? This is known as congestion and is a major problem for free to air services. One of the primary advantages of MyCostSavingCall is that it ensures that there is always sufficient bandwidth available to transmit your call anytime anywhere. Do we have enough Internet speed in South Africa?Yes. MyCostSavingCall buys its own bandwidth so the service is guaranteed. Can I work online when talking using VoIP?Yes. Can I still use my connection as a fax line whilst talking?Yes. |
